Placecheck: Walkabout - Typical TimetableStart: Meet up - say hello· Pair up. Every pair should have a Placecheck form, or something with which to record their thoughts.· Have a quick chat about what you hope to achieve today..Five minutes later: Get Placechecking!Go down the street in pairsWrite down your thoughts as you go, based on these questions:1. What do we like about the place?2. What don’t we like?3. What needs to be improved?One hour later: Get talkingGather together again.Run through the list of points raised during your Placecheck and think how they might be tackled.Volunteer to do something that you can easily achieve in the next 1-3 weeks (eg tidy a garden, remove some litter, speak to a neighbour obtain more information, find out what grants are available, find out who can get things done).Make sure someone is prepared to collect everyone’s Placecheck forms, and write or type them up to form the basis of an action plan. Agree to meet in soon to produce your action plan and to see how people are getting on with what they have agreed to do.
