Kilwinning Active Travel

North Ayrshire Council is developing proposals to improve paths through Kilwinning’s Blacklands Recreation Ground and surrounding area. We want to create convenient continuous, off-road walking and cycling routes across the greenspace, to connect neighbourhoods to the town centre, schools, and other local destinations. At the same time, we want to know about other active travel improvements that you would like to see across Kilwinning.

Please leave as many comments and ideas as you like on the map. Think about what issues you experience and where there are problems that you would wish to see sorted to make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists (and for buggy, scooter and wheelchair users) to get around.

As an example, are there:

  • difficult road crossings that could be made safer?
  • areas which feel unsafe to use?
  • other facilities (such as lighting, signage, cycle parking, etc) that could be improved?
  • other routes you want to see upgraded?

The map will be open for comments until 20 March 2020. Whilst all comments and contributors are publicly visible on the Placecheck tool, names of contributors will not be used in the final reporting.

Once you have added all your comments to the map, please complete our short online questionnaire survey, to tell us more about your travel patterns and your views on what else could be done to encourage more people to walk, cycle and wheel in Kilwinning. please click: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/kilwinning

  4. Click on the map where you want to make a comment.
  5. Click on ‘Save to map’.
  6. In the box that opens, write the title (e.g. ‘Park gates’ or ‘Litter’) and under ‘Description’ write what you want to say about it.
